July has been one for the books over at Umpf HQ. From trails and inflatable obstacle courses to award wins and exciting new openings, the team has been knocking it out the park for our clients. Headlines have been made, coverage has been impressive, and there is still even more to come this summer…
Summer creative. Sorted!
July’s been a full house in the design studio, with creative rolling out for summer events across the Landsec portfolio. Mega Bounce at Braintree Village, The Monster at Bluewater, Lightning Loop at Clarks Village, Castaway Cove at Gunwharf Quays, Character Meet & Greets at St David’s, Beach Fest at Liverpool ONE, Craft & Chocolate Workshops at Trinity Leeds, Kids Carnival at White Rose, and the Natural History Museum Trail at Westgate Oxford.
Nine events. Managed and produced simultaneously by one creative team. No pressure 😅
For each event, we handled on-site creative for things like wayfinding signage, totems and posters. We also created digital promo for social, ticketing and destination websites and interactive games to help drive footfall. We’ve dropped a quick event collection visual below, but keep an eye out for full case studies coming soon.
We’re never too busy for more! Branding that turns heads. Campaign design that stops the scroll. Website design and build that does the job properly, first time. Give us a shout.

Yorkshire Beast completes epic final chapter for charity
The final instalment of the Yorkshire Beast endurance series saw EnjoyTravel.com CEO Martin Mansell take on an extraordinary solo challenge – cycling the entire 2,007-mile perimeter of England in just 11 days, averaging an incredible 169 miles a day to raise money for charity.
From pre-departure through to the finish line, we powered the PR to keep the story moving – securing coverage across key regional outlets including BBC Look North, BBC Radio Leeds, York and Sheffield, Capital FM Yorkshire, The Yorkshire Post, Yorkshire Evening Post, Hull Live and Yorkshire.com. The campaign generated 38 pieces of coverage with a reach of just under 16 million, helping raise over £10,000 for the Rob Burrow Centre for MND and Yorkshire Children’s Charity, taking the Yorkshire Beast series total to £81,000.

More monstrous coverage for mega inflatables at Bluewater and Braintree Village
July marked the launches of Mega Bounce House, the world’s largest bounce house at Braintree Village in Essex and The Monster, one of the world’s largest inflatable assault courses at Bluewater in Kent.
For Mega Bounce, the Umpf team coordinated a press and influencer launch event, then issued a ‘now open’ press release alongside launch event imagery to regional and national titles. This approach contributed to a whopping total of 120 clippings with a reach of 65.8 million, including coverage in The Sun alongside standout influencer content from @puwtok, which has amassed a reach of over 2.8 million (and counting!).
Meanwhile, following a ‘now open’ press release and imagery send-out for The Monster, we have secured 106 clippings with a reach of 74.9 million to date, landing a feature in The Sun. This month, the Umpf team have also coordinated press visits from key regional titles, including Kent Online and KMTV.
With a month until each event closes, watch this space for even more coverage…!

A Blooming New Partnership with 123 Flowers
We’re delighted to announce that, following a competitive pitch, we’ve been chosen as the PR agency for leading online florist, 123 Flowers – and our partnership is already blooming! The team hit the ground running, supporting the brand in promoting a vibrant experiential activation that brought a burst of colour to the streets of Belfast. To celebrate one of its most valued customer communities, 123 Flowers transformed the city with a floral-themed open-top sightseeing bus and a giveaway of thousands of free flower bouquets and limited-edition tote bags in the Titanic Quarter. Our team secured coverage across regional publications, including Northern Ireland Travel News, BAM NI and Business New NI, helping to amplify awareness of the activation, extend its reach beyond the event itself and showcase the brand’s commitment to creating memorable experiences for its customers.
This is just the first stem of what’s to come, so watch this space!
Rock ‘n’ Roll Stars
July kicked off with celebrations as our Wonder Wall campaign for St David’s Cardiff was named the Best Beauty, Fashion, & Lifestyle PR Campaign at the 2026 national CIPR Excellence Awards.
The judges said: “A really impressive return on a small budget. A simple, but highly effective idea that channelled the national hype around Oasis’ arrival in Cardiff – placing St David’s at the heart of the conversation. The campaign travelled – capturing attention in real-life, across national and international media, and organically on social. Importantly, there were clear measurable outcomes too including a significant uplift in footfall. Loved the insurance policy of the Wonder Wall in case of a Gallagher brother spat.”
The win follows an impressive awards season for the Oasis-inspired Wonder Wall campaign, which picked up three gongs at the PRmoment Awards in April, plus the title of Best Marketing Campaign at the Revo Retail Awards in 2025.

Launching the Search for Xscape’s First-Ever Legend
We supported Xscape Milton Keynes and Xscape Yorkshire with the launch of their exciting new in-centre challenge, inviting visitors to compete for the title of Xscape Legend. Designed to bring friends and families together for a fun-filled day out, the challenge encouraged participants to take on five unique activities set by participating Xscape brands, collecting badges along the way to complete their Xscape Legends lanyard. Those who achieved all five badges earned a place on the prestigious Xscape Wall of Fame, celebrating them as some of the very first Xscape Legends.
To help build excitement and drive awareness of the launch, we delivered a targeted regional PR campaign, securing widespread coverage across both locations. The campaign generated 16 pieces of coverage in Milton Keynes, including MK Citizen, MK FM and My MK, alongside 12 pieces in Yorkshire, with coverage secured in H&N Magazine, Wakefield Express and Welcome to Yorkshire. The strong media response helped encourage participation, and the search was soon successful, with the first-ever Xscape Legends crowned at both centres.
Super-sized Golf Art Has Tommy Down to a Tee
As the eyes of the golfing world turned to Liverpool for the 154th British Open at Royal Birkdale, we unveiled a giant 1,000 square metre portrait of local golfing legend Tommy Fleetwood at Liverpool ONE.
The eye-catching 40m x 25m portrait was installed on the grass at Chavasse Park and took three people two days to create using special grass pitch-marking paint. The PR stunt helped drive a lot of media attention – achieving 65 pieces of coverage with a total reach of 116m, including Sky Sports, The Times and BBC Radio 5 Live.

New development on the way for St David’s Cardiff
We’ve recently supported Landsec and St David’s Cardiff in announcing plans for the development of Queens Arcade. The transformation will deliver fresh brands and experiences to complement the retail, dining, and leisure experienced already offered at St David’s and across the city centre, with the lively space to be fronted by three new restaurants.
Umpf led the consumer comms on the announcement, securing coverage across regional titles including WalesOnline and the South Wales Echo as well as national pieces in BBC News, The Sun, and the Daily Express.
Brad’s Blue Plaque is Music to Our Ears
With our client Liverpool ONE hosting its annual ‘Tickle the Ivories’ festival, we came up with a PR stunt to help raise its profile even further – unveiling a blue plaque at the spot where piano star Brad Kella first performed at the centre more than 10 years ago. The self-taught pianist has had an inspiring journey since, gaining national recognition as the winner of Channel 4’s The Piano and achieving a Number 1 Classical album with Phoebe’s Melody, named after his daughters. Brad returned to the centre to unveil the plaque with his family and speak to press. We achieved 35 pieces of coverage with 41m reach, including BBC Radio Merseyside, BBC North West Tonight and BBC News Online.
