We create illustrations that can be used across campaign artwork, diagrams and branded assets. Illustration is tailored to the project, ranging from a more corporate approach through to hand-drawn style, depending on the creative direction needed.
How We Use Illustration
Illustration can help set the right tone for a campaign and make content feel more engaging to its intended audience. For example, we developed an illustrated children’s recipe book for Belling, aimed at promoting healthy eating which used a playful and approachable designed to capture children’s attention and build enthusiasm around healthier food choices.
It’s also the clearest way to explain something complicated, and on social a distinctive illustrated style makes content recognisable at a glance. The style can clearly belong to the project and/or brand, and once it’s established, new assets can be added in the same look whenever they’re needed.
Brand Illustration & Iconography
From bespoke icon sets and wayfinding graphics to distinctive illustration styles and wider brand asset libraries, we create visual systems that give brands a consistent, recognisable look and feel.
Infographics & Explainers
Illustration is often the clearest way to handle information-heavy content. We create infographics and data visualisation that break down complicated information into something people can follow at a glance. It works particularly well for public sector and health communications, where the message needs to reach a broad audience.
Campaign Illustration
Illustration frequently becomes the main visual for a campaign, especially where photography isn’t available or wouldn’t tell the story as clearly. We’ve used it across awareness work for the clients like the NHS, creating illustrated scenes that show scenarios photography couldn’t. It carries well across social, print, POS too.

Illustration Design FAQs
When should you use illustration instead of photography?
Illustration works best where photography isn’t available, wouldn’t be appropriate, or couldn’t show the scenario clearly. It’s common in health and public sector communications, and useful for anything that needs to feel warm and approachable rather than literal.
What is an infographic?
An infographic uses illustration and design to present information visually, making data or a process easier to understand at a glance than it would be as written content. They’re widely used in reports, campaigns and social content.
What’s the difference between iconography and illustration?
Iconography is a system of simple, consistent symbols designed to work at small sizes and communicate quickly. Illustration is broader and more detailed, often carrying more personality. Many brands use both, with icons for functional use and illustration for campaign or editorial work.
Can illustration be animated?
Yes, and it’s worth planning for early. Illustration built with animation in mind is far easier to bring to life later, which makes it a practical option for social content, explainer videos and campaign motion.
Can illustration form part of a brand identity?
Yes. Many brands include an illustration style within their guidelines, alongside colour, typography and photography direction, so it becomes a recognisable part of how the brand looks.
