Project Snapshot
Leeds Health & Care Partnership approached us to create a brand identity that was clear, accessible and flexible enough to work across a partnership spanning multiple communities, trusts and healthcare settings. It needed to hold up in the hands of staff producing their own content, not just in the hands of designers. We helped deliver the full identity, from initial logo concepts through to brand guidelines, expanding the illustration library and a toolkit of editable templates, along with ongoing creative support.
Our Approach
We started with initial logo concepts and refined them based on feedback and insight from LH&CP colleagues. The logo reflects collaboration across communities, trusts and healthcare and wellbeing settings, which is the thing that defines the partnership and needed to sit at the heart of the identity. Getting that right mattered more than anything else, because everything else in the system was built out from it.
What We Created
Alongside the visual identity and brand guidelines, we built a toolkit covering social media templates, PowerPoint and document templates, and applied the brand across building signage and staff-facing materials. Photography felt too limiting for a partnership this broad, and keeping a consistent style across it would have been difficult to maintain. So we developed the illustration library instead, showing character, diversity, and the local areas and communities that make up Leeds. Everything was designed to be flexible, accessible and straightforward to use.
Overall Impact
LH&CP now has a single brand identity working across a partnership that spans multiple communities, trusts and healthcare settings, replacing the inconsistency that comes with an organisation of that size operating without one. The illustration library gives them a look that’s recognisably theirs rather than generic healthcare stock imagery, and one that can keep growing as new needs come up.
The toolkit was built with everyday use in mind. Editable social, PowerPoint and document templates mean staff can produce their own content and drop in illustrations as they need them, so the brand holds together in practice rather than just in a guidelines document. We continue to provide ongoing creative support as it rolls out further.
