July was another busy month! Alongside getting down to some seriously fun and exhilarating PR campaigns, our London team officially moved into their new office. Read on…

The Launch of Umpf’s London Office

Our London team officially moved into their office in July. Based on Dean Street in the heart of Soho, we’ve got a pretty cool workspace.  The Leeds team are not jealous at all about the podcast recording room, free breakfasts or the aircon.

Tent Vending Machine

As restrictions lifted and interest in staycations and festivals surged, we launched a one-of-a-kind tent vending machine for Decathlon – believed to be a world-first.

The bespoke vending machine dispensed camping tents only and aimed to help shoppers beat the queues ahead of the summer holidays, following a huge 500%+ rise in demand for camping equipment at Decathlon.

As well as the PR, we also created social content helping the campaign reach more than a quarter million people.

Frock Me at Braintree Village

We worked with Essex born-and-bred Hayley Rubery from @FrockMeImFamous who brought her chic interior style to launch Braintree Village’s “The Studio”, transforming a shop unit into an Instagrammable VIP area.

“The Studio” is designed to be an exclusive space which will be used as a social space; somewhere to have some fizz or try on your purchases post-shopping at the village and allow brands at the centre to showcase their newest and most exciting items.

The launch was a huge success and we’re looking forward to utilising the space events in the future.

Trinity Takes Centre Stage

We transformed the former Topshop store in Leeds into a new attraction that will publicise the work of hundreds of artists, giving a boost to the arts industry (which we know has been hit pretty hard over the past 18 months).

We created and project-managed everything, from the initial ‘Trinity Stage’, idea, through to the design look and feel, graphics and screen animations, as well as curating content from emerging talent, artists and performers in the region

Lobbying for the Travel Industry

We worked with the UK’s largest independent membership organisation for travel agents, The Travel Network Group, to respond to the Government’s various quarantine and traveller traffic light announcements. Our work in June and July landed 250+ pieces of national print, online and travel trade coverage, as well as a raft of national broadcast media interviews for the CEO, Gary Lewis.

Zip Zip Hooray (the one that got away in last month’s PR Diary)

How could we forget? At the end of June we launched England’s longest and fastest zipwire: Hangloose at Bluewater shopping centre in Kent. We’ve racked up 70+ pieces of brilliant coverage including The Times, The Sun, Daily Star, Sunday Mirror, Daily Express, Sunday Express, plus bags of regional coverage and broadcast, too.

And of course, we had to try it out ourselves –
