Umpf’s Homes & Interiors Press Office Experience

Alongside big campaign moments, our day-to-day press office activity is key to keeping interiors brands front of mind. We draft and issue press releases – whether it’s a new collection launch, product range, collaboration, or seasonal trend – pitch features on home and lifestyle topics, secure interviews for brand spokespersons, arrange styled photography and shoots – and manage award entries.

Drawing on our strong media relationships across homes, interiors, lifestyle, and consumer press – as well as using online tools and journalist request platforms – we ensure our clients’ news and products land in the right places. Our proactive outreach means editors and journalists come to us too, trusting Umpf to provide compelling stories, product inspiration, and expert commentary for their audiences. home-interiors-pr-media-coverage

5 Umpf Homes & Interiors PR Case Studies

1. PR Campaign: Superhero Recipes For Little Heroes – Belling

Superhero Recipes for your Little Heroes’ is a PR award-winning superhero-inspired recipe book we produced for kitchen appliance brand Belling. The book was inspired by some clever research which analysed the eating habits of superheroes in Hollywood films, and included recipes based on foods seen on screen, but with a healthy twist – perfect for families. The campaign drove tens of thousands of people to the Belling website – so many that an additional print run of the book was required to meet demand – and during the campaign period, 9/10 of the top website traffic sources were attributed to coverage generated by Umpf.

2. PR Campaign: Getting Cosy – Harrison Spinks

As part our ongoing work raising the profile of sustainable luxury bedmaker Harrison Spinks, we’ve secured more than 257 pieces of coverage – with a reach of 125m. This includes expert comments from sleep tips to business advice as well as product reviews, alongside day-to-day press office activity. A particular highlight for our PR team was helping secure an hour-long dedicated episode on BBC Two’s primetime show ‘Inside The Factory’. BBC’s visit resulted in a 6,755% increase in website visitors for the brand (with enquiries spiking with every re-run) and increased new business for the company.

3. PR Campaign: Not Just Any Old Iron – Morphy Richards

From creating a new recipe book with a MasterChef star to working with Bird’s Eye on a ‘Potato Waffle Toaster’, we’ve proved to be a perfect match for Morphy Richards. One of our biggest successes was for the brand’s 85th anniversary, when we launched a hunt to find the nation’s oldest working Morphy Richards appliance. After a call-out in the press and social media, we discovered an 80-year-old iron passed down by a beloved grandmother – the hugely popular story generated 103 pieces of coverage with a circulation of 175m across TV, radio, print and online. It was also their best-performing content across social in several months, driving a spike in reach, engagement and link clicks. Not to mention we won several awards for the activity!

4. PR Stunt: Instant Hot Tea Tap – Keepmoat Homes

It may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but we enhanced Keepmoat’s brand awareness by creating the ‘world’s first instant hot tea tap’ April Fools stunt, resulting in a splash of over 60 pieces of regional, trade and national coverage.

5. PR Campaign Dogs (no longer) in the Dark – 4lite

We had a bright idea for lighting brand 4lite by tapping into a timely issue for many pet owners who don’t like leaving their dogs in the dark to promote their smart lighting technology. The campaign created brand awareness with 113 pieces of coverage and 25.5m reach.
As well as coming up with eye-catching campaigns, we also handled the media outreach and social content for the brand, working with a mix of trade and consumer influencers. We’ve seen big success with our influencer work, with one particular TikTok video achieving a quarter of a million views, contributing to the brand’s best sales week ever – plus an Instagram Reel from one of our lifestyle influencers achieving 349,000 views.
