Campaign snapshot

During the half-term holidays, Xscape Yorkshire introduced a ‘Busk Stop’, giving local artists a dedicated spot to perform for the very first time. Yorkshire busker and TikTok star Liv Harland headlined the opening, drawing in a crowd. The floor was then opened to local and aspiring artists to perform throughout the half-term and beyond.

How we did it

We created and designed a branded ‘Busk Stop’ to highlight the centre’s dedicated busking space. To create a buzz around the activity, we commissioned Tik Tok sensation Liv Harland to launch the campaign with the first performance.

A press release announcing the launch of the ‘Busk Stop’, along with Liv’s performance was issued to the media to generate awareness ahead of the launch. The release included a call-to-action for local buskers to register their interest to perform during the half-term holidays.

An additional release was issued, utilising imagery captured on the launch day, to promote the additional buskers performing throughout the week.

The results

The activity was a low-cost campaign which brought energy to the centre. The announcement sparked strong interest from local artists and garnered widespread local coverage, both pre- and post-launch, including Wakefield Express, Yorkshire Evening Post and Welcome to Yorkshire.

Liv Harland also shared snippets of her performance at Xscape on her Instagram channel, amplifying the event’s reach to her 1.1m followers. Other local buskers promoted their involvement on social as well.
