Autumn is well underway, but we’ve still been busy bees here at Umpf HQ! From hitting the headlines to making a splash on social, read all about what we’ve been up to this September.

Making the Longlist for The World’s Most Valuable Literary Sports-Writing Prize

This month, we supported William Hill announce its longlist for their Sports Book of the Year Award.

A record 158 books were entered into this year’s Award which were whittled down by a panel of judges to reveal the top 15 books, and we had the pleasure of announcing these to the public on social and in the media.

Widespread coverage was generated across the sporting and literature media including The Bookseller, Insider Sport and Sports Insight, with a combined total reach of over 24.9m. Coverage was also secured in several sport/ regional specific articles which focussed on individual longlist authors including the Irish Times, Irish Post, Golf Business News and Golf Monthly. You can find out more on who made the longlist here.

Following the success of the longlist announcement, the team are already working behind the scenes on the shortlist announcement which will be taking place next month. Watch this space!

Creativity flows through Umpf Studio

Umpf Studio has had a busy month producing a host of incredible online and social media content for our clients. From creating filters to developing coffee and cocktail themed competitions, and not forgetting bringing back the magic of Christmas, there’s never a dull day for the team.

Coverage for a Good Cause

Buchanan Galleries welcomed its charity partner, Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity into its first ever high-street store this month offering visitors pre-loved baby and toddler clothing, along with Wee Activity Zone for children. The team supported the good cause with blanket regional coverage including Glasgow Evening Times, STV News, What’s on Glasgow, and Glasgow World.

Moving on up!

Prolific North announced their Top 25 PR Agencies for 2022, and we’re incredibly proud to have moved up two places on the list! Our team is constantly grafting away, and this is a testament to the all the hard work we do here at Umpf HQ.

LEDing the way with energy efficient lightbulbs

With the energy bills crisis hitting the headlines last month, we put together some facts and stats for our client 4Lite, showing how much money you could save on your energy bills by switching to LED bulbs. It was picked up by several national titles, including Daily Mail, Evening Standard, Express, This is Money, MSN and more, plus more than 30 regional titles.

Looking to a sustainable future with Harrison Spinks

Our luxury bedmaker client, Harrison Spinks, has worked hard to achieve three Queen’s Awards which have been highly honoured the business. Having met the then prince, and now, King Charles when he was launching the campaign for wool, Simon Spinks has insight into what the future of these awards could look like due to the King’s passion for the environment and sustainability. On the back of this, we secured a feature in The Times, in the newspaper and online, about this unique award and what it means to UK businesses.

New faces and new last names…

We’re extremely excited to welcome Junior Account Executive, Julia Nathan to the Umpf team! Julia joined our Leeds office after graduating from Leeds Trinity University and has already been initiated with a team night out (involving a heated table tennis tournament!).

More celebrations were in order too, as our very own Senior Account Director, Milly Rose, was married at a beautiful ceremony in the heart of Yorkshire. Congratulations Milly & Olly!
