It’s freezing outside so grab a brew and check out what’s been happening at Umpf HQ this November… and what we got up to at the Umpf Christmas do 😉
Power Pitching
A few members of the Umpf team undertook a fast-paced pitching event and virtually met with lots of national journalists to introduce to them some fantastic Christmas gift ideas and Black Friday deals from our clients.
We had a small window to speak to the key journalists and go through the product highlights and features, whilst providing a quick demonstration and answering any questions. Some top tips for anyone ’virtually pitching’ to key journalists would be:
- Practice, practice, practice
- Draft a tight script if you’re running through a lot of products at once
- Follow up with the journalists after you’ve pitched to them
At home with Blossoms Home
4lite launched their partnership with home and interiors influencer The Blossoms Home, with a Reel that introduced the energy-saving capabilities of LED bulbs and smart technology.
As part of 4lite’s social media strategy, we proposed a long-term partnership with a prominent interiors influencer to help raise awareness of the brand and their range of lighting solutions and smart products, whilst highlighting the benefits and features of both – and we found that Helena of The Blossoms Home was the perfect fit!
In the coming months, we’ll be working with Helena on content around energy-saving, garden lighting and new product launches. Watch this space!

Keepmoat’s Kelly Claims Commonwealth Gold
We landed a heap of coverage for client Keepmoat following its sponsorship of People and Development Manager, Kelly Clark, who competed in the Commonwealth Powerlifting Championships, which took place in New Zealand last month. Kelly successfully achieved both Gold and Silver medals for England in the competition, alongside achieving a powerlifting record in equipped bench press in her weight category.
Kelly’s journey to success, both throughout the competition and in her personal health journey, captured the attention of many, securing online, print and broadcast coverage, including ITV Calendar, iNews and Yorkshire Post, with additional coverage in the pipeline.
Exclusive VIP event for Clarks Village’s first ever ice rink
This year marks the first time Clarks Village Shopping Outlet in Somerset has opened an ice rink to guests, offering a new magical experience over the festive period.
The custom-built 550 metre-squared undercover ice rink is set within the stunning grounds of the historic Alfred Gillett Trust and features real ice, offering plenty of fun for guests of all ages.
Team Umpf arranged an exclusive VIP ice skating event for the grand opening, inviting journalists, influencers and Clarks Village stakeholders to get their skates on and try out the rink, as well as arranging photography and videography to capture the evening.
The complimentary event went down a treat, and included some spectacular entertainment from professional skaters, a DJ set, have-a-go sessions for invitees, along with a free glass of bubbly upon arrival.
The team bagged some create coverage for our client, and ITV News even attended to film a news broadcast live from the ice rink!

And it’s been a bumper end to the year for Leanne who passed her driving test (beep, beep)!
