It’s been a mad March, rounded off with a great Easter long weekend. Take a look at what the team have been up to this month…

Cooking up a low-energy storm with Belling

Did you know that the way you cook your meals can have an impact on your energy bills? With research showing that households could be spending more than £200 a year on fuel costs, we worked with cooking appliance brand Belling to create and launch a free energy-saving recipe book filled with lower-energy versions of popular dishes.

Using the cookbook, households can save £49.32 every year – with some dishes using up to 80% less energy than their traditional versions. We worked with a home economist to develop the ten bespoke recipes in the book, which is also packed with tips and tricks to save money in the kitchen.

We’ve seen a great response from media so far, with almost 200 pieces of coverage to date. Get your copy of the book from the Belling website.

Bluewater celebrates a quarter century!

Our client Bluewater celebrated its 25th birthday in style this March. They marked the occasion by inviting over 90 staff members who have worked there since the doors opened in 1999 for a morning of celebrations with Centre Director James Waugh, Dartford’s MP Gareth Johnson and the Mayor of Dartford, Rosanna Currans.

The Umpf consumer team have so far secured 45 pieces of coverage with a reach of over 91 million including BBC News, The Sun, The Express and a raft of regional media. The team coordinated interviews with BBC South East, BBC Radio Kent, BBC Radio Sussex and BBC Radio Surrey.

Meanwhile, our 25th anniversary drone stunt has generated 1/3 million views, including over 230,000 on Insta where we collaborated with local influencer Tasha Newcombe – see below:

Celebrating generosity with Buchanan Galleries and Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity

This Easter, Buchanan Galleries, generously supported their charity partner, Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, by donating 500 chocolate Easter eggs to children in hospital. The small gesture aimed to bring joy to children hospitalised during the holiday period.

To celebrate this act of kindness, we organised a photo opportunity capturing the donation at the shopping centre and publicised the activity via the local media, highlighting the centre’s unwavering support for the charity and ongoing work they do to support children undergoing life-changing treatments in hospital. The initiative achieved both online and print coverage in key titles including Glasgow Live, Glasgow Evening Times, and The Herald, with a collective audience reach of 6.4M.

2024 marks 10 years since Buchanan Galleries and Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity began their partnership, and together have raised £½ million for children and young people facing life-limiting illnesses, their families, and the dedicated staff who care for them.

Tucking in to top street food at Trinity Kitchen

We’ve been busy spreading the word about Trinity Kitchen’s exciting new arrivals – including local Leeds restaurant Stuzzi’s Deep-Fried Lasagne Van, plus Jimmy Macks, Eat Like a Greek, Ka-Bao and Shoot the Bull.

The latest line-up of street food vendors is available to try for the next couple of months, and we’ve been inviting local foodies and influencers to test it out for themselves.

The Deep-Fried Lasagne Van has proved a particular hit with both local media and the public – and it’s not hard to see why! The unique offering has certainly captured people’s attention, and we can highly recommend it ourselves!
