PR Diary: September

Eeking into quarter three we enjoyed a bit of glamour and let our hair down – read on to find out what we did as summer turned to Autumn…
Make-up mad for Made Up Leeds
We were tasked with providing PR and branding support for Made Up Leeds – Leeds’ first all-inclusive beauty event which took place over 29th and 30th September.
Umpf handled the PR and social media, and the star-studded line-up included Made in Chelsea star Georgia ‘Toff’ Toffolo, Love Island contestants Kaz Crossley and Alexandra Cane, male beauty vlogger Lewys Ball, and E4’s Body Fixers star Danny Richo.
All of the events were free to attend, with additional talks and tutorials from drag queen star Michael ‘Gisele’ Allan, celebrity hairdresser Andrew Barton, international make-up artist Ruby Hammer MBE, and mother and daughter make-up artists Shaheen Kauser and Sanna Nosheen – known as Mummillion and Lookamillion.
Umpf also created the eye-catching Glamour Passport, which included more than 110 individual offers from 90 cosmetics stores, franchises, restaurants and bars.
Coverage of the event appeared across the region and even made the Daily Mail.

And here’s some of the fab branding work from our lovely Studio team…
All for one and one for #AllinLeeds
This month we were delighted to get behind the bid for Channel 4 to make Leeds it’s new home by joining All In. Leeds – a multi-agency movement designed to bring together the cities creative sector to back the bid.
The group of Leeds agencies created a ‘Love Letter’ to Channel 4 and simultaneously posted to their channels on September 19.

Roll out the barrel
After a busy summer we headed for our annual pilgrimage to Leeds Beer Festival to sample some amber nectar and tasty street foods. Here’s a pic before we got too bleary-eyed…

PRCA Judging
As well as entering (and winning) lots of PR and social media awards, we’re also involved on the other side of the fence. To keep us up-to-speed with award entries from other PR agencies, Adrian our MD, was a judge on the PRCA National Awards this month.
You can see the shortlisted campaigns and agencies in the link in the Tweet below.
The shortlist for the PRCA National Awards is now live! Huge congratulations to all those who made the list: https://t.co/Dfn3g0nAMB pic.twitter.com/8grvz102fa
